Ministry Leader: Tammie Taylor

The purpose of the Local Missions Ministry is to model Christ’s concern for people, both individually and collectively in communities. This ministry partners with local ministries and organizations to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the community and surrounding areas on a “as-needed basis”. This ministry is called to deal with the needs and concerns of persons beyond the congregation, relating the ministry of the local church to the needs of the world through compassion, justice, and advocacy. The Local Missions Ministry will plan, execute and host at least 4 events per year.

Ministry is focused meeting the needs of those in the community and the surrounding areas. This Ministry partners with local charities in Raleigh and has assisted with the renovations and upkeep of a Pre-School in South Raleigh. It has ministered to local Nursing Homes, Franklin Graham’s Operation Shoe Box Blessing, Operation Christmas Child, The Salvation Army, Shelter for Battered Women, The Girl Scouts, Back-to School collections, Food Bank of North Carolina, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, Military Family Assistance, Wake County Public Building Together Ministries, Angel Food Ministries/Living Word Family Church, Raleigh RESCUE Mission of Hope, Encouragement Place Summer Camp, Wake County Public Schools, Ship of Zion, North Haven Church, Brownie Troop #687, TEAMM (Teaching Effect Academic Management & Mentoring,  Nduecson, Christian Life Home and North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women, Helen Right Center for Homeless Women, Pride For Parents Christmas Outreach, Share Our Shoes, Lions Eyeglass Recycling, Inc., Interact (used cell phones), Coins for Water Wells,  Y-Achievers Backpacks, Wake County Public Schools Back Pack Buddies, The Prom Shoppe, Support Circle Program, My Sista’s Shoes, Dress for Success, SISI Foundation, Wake Relief Food Pantry, Helping Hands Mission (fans relief) Emergency Food Assistance Program, Hillside Nursing & Rehabilitation and With Love from Jesus.
