Salvation, what must I do to be saved?

Prayerfully you’ve arrived at this page because you’ve decided you want to be Saved.  At this point the next decision for you to make is based on your faith…your simply believing and holding on to what you’ve decided to believe.  Don’t wonder whether or not you have faith.  You do have it!  It is revealed in God’s word that He has given us all a measure of faith! See Romans 12:3 .The answer to “What must I do to be saved?” is really simple…it is in your mouth and your heart.  Romans 10:8-13 answers the question simply and directly: [This is] the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”.

It’s that simple…confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (meaning you submit yourself to Him with all that you know and understand that to mean at this moment) and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.  To say that Jesus is Lord is a decision of faith and a statement of faith.  Phillipians 2:10,11 tells us that every knee should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.  You are doing it now…by faith, because you’ve heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ (the good news of Jesus Christ) and you have both believed and received!  By speaking that with belief, you are proclaiming Jesus’ Lordship as a truth in your life and “the truth” as a matter of fact!

God graciously offers to you what you could never do for yourself.  God’s gift to you is free.  You do not, and cannot, work for a gift.  All you need to do is receive it.  Believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ died for you to provide deliverance from your sins and to give you eternal life.  When you receive Christ you become a child of God.  He is waiting to be received into your life.  You can invite Jesus Christ into your life right now by praying to God something like this:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that I need Your forgiveness.  I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place to pay the penalty for my sin and that You raised Him from the dead.  I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord.  I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my life as my Savior.  I receive this gift by faith.  Thank You for making me Your child. Help me learn to love, trust, and obey You in every part of my life.  In Jesus name. Amen.

If you received Christ just now the following took place:

Welcome to the family!  We are now siblings in the Lord!  Our gift to you is to help you with a little direction.  One question that typically comes up is I am saved, what now?
